2A & 2B transport trip

Transport Trip

Last Friday, the children went on their school trip to Liverpool. We began our trip at 9 0'clock, walking to Grove Road station and getting on a train to James Street. The children loved hopping on the train, going through the tunnel and then using both an escalator and a lift when we arrived at the station. We left the station and walked across the road to reach the museum of Liverpool. Children enjoyed exploring lots of the exhibitions this museum had to offer, using their senses to hear, smell, touch and see all of the different displays. We particularly enjoyed our guided tour of the transport exhibition, exploring different modes of transport from the past including: a steam train, an old car, a horse and cart, and a boat. The children loved making noises associated to each transport and suggested whether each mode of transport would be slow or fast. The best part of our guided tour was getting to sit on the more modern mode of transport, the electric overhead railway train. On this train, we had pretend tickets, wore hats and were read a story all about the railway. Finally, before we left the museum, we went up to the top floor and did a sketch of what we could see out of the window. After, we left the museum, we boarded the Dazzle ship and got off at Seacombe. All children were incredibly excited to get on this ship as we have been learning about dazzle patterns in school and have seen photos of it in school. Finally, we left Seacombe by coach, returning to school at 3 o'clock. We had an excellent day and thoroughly enjoyed continuing our learning of transport from the past. Well done to the children for their enthusiam, engagement and good behaviour throughout.
