5C go orienteering!

This afternoon, 5C have been practising their Orienteering skills. We began in the hall by making 'funny faces' inside hoops. We soon discovered the importance of directional language and how we have to make it clear which way to direct our team.

Then, we went outside onto the school grounds to find the flag markers. We used maps of the playground and surrounding area to locate each of the markers before adding the location to our map. It looked easy at first but we soon learnt that we had to be very precise with our grids!

Next Monday we are going to go out for Elleray Park but this time we will be using a more complex map. We have had a great time!
