Evacuation Day at Chirk Primary School

Year 6 children from St George’s Primary School were evacuated to Chirk today following the declaration of war. All children took the long train journey to reach their new home and have spent the day at their new schools.  They have learnt some wartime songs, made sock puppets (as many did not have not enough space in their suitcases for toys) and have practised air raid drills. We are looking forward to inviting potential host families to the village hall to select their evacuees.
