In Year 4 we are starting off our year by looking at place value. Here are the objectives we will be covering.
How can you help at home?
Practise counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and 50s. Can you count as you walk up and down the stairs in different ways? Can you practise counting money out of your purse or money box? Can you add 1 more, 10 more or 100 more to a given number?
Play bingo - this can help to support knowledge of number up to 100. For variation try calling out numbers as 3 tens and 5 ones instead of 35 or a number that is 10 more than 25.
Maths at Home
Children will be given passwords for My Maths. There are activities on this website that the children can use to practise the skills that they have learnt in school. Please log on to this website regularly and try out some of the games and fun activities. Any children unable to complete these tasks at home will be able to go to a homework club in school.
