Year 1 History

Throughout Autumn 2 the children in Year 1 will be looking at how play has changed over time. 

We began by looking at timelines, firstly the timeline of our teachers before creating our own.

The following week, Mrs Roberts visited us to share her fond memories of her childhood in St George's. She loved playing with her yoyo, whip and top and skipping with her friends in the playground. 

Throughout the remaining weeks, we will use VR headsets and a selection of artefacts including spinning tops, dolls and toy cars across different eras to consider how play has changed. Year 1 hope this will spark lots of conversation at home about how adults loved to play when they were children.
