Year 4 Science Week Outdoor Learning
For our outdoor learning this week we have been looking at classification with a focus on earthworms. Did you know there are 3 types of earthworm? Earthworkers, deep burrowers and surface dwellers. They are all different in colour and size.
We started by searching for worms, which was great fun! Then we had time to research the 3 different types of worms and what the differences were between them. Using a worm identifcation sheet and hand lenses, we observed our worms carefully and asked questions to identify what type of worms we had found. Finally, in partners we created our own worm classification keys, using the knowledge we had gained.
